About Us

Exploring Inclusive Futures

Boundaries & Beyond, a division of Aspire Workforce, LLC, is dedicated to providing inclusive and accessible sex education for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DDs). Our mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to navigate healthy relationships and sexual safety. Through tailored curricula and a trauma-informed approach, we prioritize accessibility, inclusivity, and respect for each individual's unique needs, fostering personal growth, confidence, and autonomy in a supportive environment.

Our Story

I’ve always had a passion for sex education. A few years ago, I started a podcast with my wonderful co-host, Jenna Brink, where we focused on educating people about sex and relationships. As I developed Aspire Workforce, LLC., it became clear that the community we serve—people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DDs)—needed the same education and inspiration. This led to the opportunity to develop and adapt a curriculum specifically for individuals with I/DDs. Our mission is to help them navigate healthy relationships and teach sexual safety, empowering them to live more informed and confident lives.

Meet The Team

Sarah Davis is a passionate advocate for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DDs) and a mother of adult son with I/DDs. For a decade, Sarah has been a dedicated job coach and job developer, working to empower those in the I/DD community by amplifying their voices and advocating for their rights.

In 2023, she founded Aspire Workforce LLC to further her mission of creating inclusive, supportive environments where individuals can thrive professionally and personally. Sarah is involved in the LGBTQ2+ community and is committed to education and inclusivity.

Sarah has also developed a division called Boundaries & Beyond, a course program designed to teach healthy relationships and safe sex practices within the I/DD community. Alongside this, she hosts a podcast focused on educating and empowering communities about sexual health and relationships.

Jenna Brink has spent the last six years as a relationship and intimacy coach, helping individuals cultivate healthy, meaningful connections. Her approach is rooted in compassionate, trauma-informed care, influenced by her training with the Somatica Institute, NICABM, The Healing Trauma Summit, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Jenna is particularly passionate about advocating for the I/DD and LGBTQIA2S+ communities. Along with her colleague    Heather Steele, she is developing a sex education curriculum specifically designed for adults with I/DD. This initiative, supported by a state grant, places a strong emphasis on addressing the unique needs of the LGBTQIA2S+ population within the I/DD community. For Jenna, this project is deeply meaningful, as she believes education is a vital tool in empowering these communities and safeguarding them from harm.

Historically, the I/DD and LGBTQIA2S+ communities have been excluded from crucial conversations about sex, relationships, and safety. Jenna's curriculum aims to change that, providing inclusive, comprehensive sex education that equips individuals with the knowledge to advocate for themselves and make informed decisions. Her goal is to promote safety, autonomy, and confidence in navigating relationships.

Guided by the values of empathy, education, and empowerment, Jenna is committed to serving these communities. Her mission is to help individuals discover their strength and voice, ensure they understand their rights, and provide them with the knowledge needed to protect themselves. She believes that knowledge is power and is dedicated to ensuring the I/DD and LGBTQIA2S+ communities have access to that power.

Heather began her work with the disability community at a young age. Starting at just 8 years old, she volunteered in her community by accompanying children with disabilities to amusement parks and carnivals, ensuring they could enjoy rides they otherwise wouldn’t be able to access. During high school and college, Heather provided ABA therapy to young people with autism, further solidifying her commitment to this work. More recently, she has provided trauma-informed care and advocacy for people with disabilities who have experienced sexual and domestic violence. This dedication naturally led her to facilitate sexual education courses for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Her experiences have inspired her to develop a more sex-positive, trauma-informed, and inclusive curriculum for this community.

Heather has over 8 years of experience as an educator and holds a Master of Science in Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Her public health background fuels her passion for advocating for and empowering communities that have been historically underserved and oppressed. For over 6 years, she has been a dedicated ally, advocate, and service provider for youth and adults who have experienced trauma, unhoused youth, residents of public housing, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Heather integrates the “Nothing for us, without us” philosophy into all her advocacy and empowerment work, ensuring that those she serves are at the forefront of her efforts.

We believe all people have the right to empathetic, inclusive, accessible, equitable, and comprehensive sexual health resources and feel especially compelled to advocate for those who often feel powerless when it comes to decisions made around their bodies and on their behalf, so it's incredibly important to us that we stand with the coalition in supporting this type of advocacy!
